Sophia Wynter
Cornwall Based Fine Artist and Workshop Leader
Sophia is an artist based in Newquay, Cornwall, born in Colchester Essex.
She works mostly with oil paint on canvas or on wood. Her subject matter includes portraiture, the nude, still life and seascape. Sophia practices life drawing regularly, along with teaching it at her own workshops. Drawing is a compulsion for Sophia, especially drawing the figure, that is when she is most engaged.
Having created art throughout her life, Sophia first focused on painting while living in Australia where she developed a watercolour portfolio of seascapes from 2019 to 2020. She returned to the UK to study oil painting with the Essential School of Painting from 2020 to 2021.

Sophia moved to Cornwall in 2021 and has developed a portfolio based on her current surroundings and experiences. Sophia produces bold works, with certain mark-making and often playing with unexpected compositions or focal points. Her works are available for sale in the online shop.
